Another week, another loss, just another day of being a Rams fan. Yikes, the Rams were crushed by the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night but they return home this week to take on the 1-13 49ers on Christmas Eve. What an exhilarating game to look forward to, NOT! But, we may have a chance to win this one. Let’s take a look!
Again, back to the Rams’ offense. Not much has changed here. ZERO touchdowns were scored and they put three points on the board. This week Jared Goff went 18 of 35 for 136 yards with zero interceptions – that’s improvement – and FOUR SACKS! But, the 49ers rank dead last in defense so it should be an interesting matchup for the Rams dreadful offense.
The Niners give up a league worst 425 yards per game, while also conceding a league worst 31 points per game. So this could be Goff’s chance to put up some numbers for the FIRST time this season.
In order to secure a victory over the Niners, Goff and his offense will have to spend the majority of their time on the field and getting down the field. The playmakers on offense, including Kenny Britt, Todd Gurley, and Brian Quick must find a way to break through the terrible 49ers defense and get to the end zone. I feel like this is the game where the Rams can show the Ramily that they aren’t SO BAD, they are just in a transitional year? Maybe?
Now, the Rams defense. Again, didn’t do much last week over the Seahawks but they did allow 24 points. The defense has a real opportunity here to stop the 49ers offense and take advantage of their lack in the receiving corp. Last week Colin Kaepernick had two touchdowns and completed 60% of his passes. Our defense tends to perform better than our offense (knock on wood), so I think they can perform well against this 49er offense.
You’ll have to watch for my game prediction! Fingers crossed Ramily!
