49ers’ Community Round Up: Free Family Learning Program Hosted at Levi’s Stadium

By March 10, 2018 No Comments

As the San Francisco 49ers get ready for the NFL Free Agency period and the NFL Draft, the rebranded 49ers EDU continues its work in the community and giving back to residents of the Bay Area.

This past week, the 49ers hosted the second of five free family learning events at Levi’s Stadium. The program gives families further instruction on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) education. In doing so, both children and their parents are given tools to help students succeed in school.

Participants are exposed to Kindergarten through eighth grade content, while families learn together. The next three sessions will be held April 11, May 2 and June 9 and those interested in participating can sign up here.

  • The 49ers work in the community went through a rebrand in the last couple of weeks. First, the organization’s youth football program will now be known as 49ers PREP, while the STEAM education program will now be known as 49ers EDU, as mentioned above.
  • 49ers PREP will be a free co-ed flag football program open to children in the Bay Area between the ages of 7-14. It is presented by U.S. Bank and sponsored by the 49ers Foundation. Registration is open this month and the program starts in April.

I created Fangirl Sports Network as a place for female sports fans to follow their favorite teams with content and coverage that speaks directly to females. It started with one and then eight and now 32 NFL Fangirls and 15 NBA Fangirls.
