The San Francisco 49ers do amazing work in the Bay Area community through a variety of programs, and many of these programs are run through the 49ers Foundation. In late March, the 49ers went to Olympic Valley, CA to hold their 17th Annual Winter Fest to raise money for the Foundation’s mission of keeping young people “Safe, On Track, and In School.”
“It was great to be at Winter Fest for my first event with the 49ers Foundation,” said new 49ers’ quarterback Brian Hoyer. “I had an opportunity to learn even more about the rich history of the organization from my teammates, alumni, and fans. To do all that and help the 49ers Foundation give back to kids was something I’ll never forget.”
In addition to Hoyer, attendees spent time with RB Mike Davis, DT Quinton Dial, P Bradley Pinion, and S Eric Reid, as well former 49ers Steve Bono, Dennis Brown, Junior Bryant, Chris Dalman, Brian Jennings, Guy McIntyre, Gene Washington, Ricky Watters, Carlton Williamson, and the great Patrick Willis. Who else really, really misses Patrick Willis? Pretty sure that would be everybody. Anyway, back to Winter Fest.
And, of course, the new sheriffs in town, general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan, were in attendance. Shanahan led the 49ers Chalk Talk, while guests also made s’mores with the Gold Rush, and went ice skating and played broomball with Olympian Dan Jansen.
“This was my first Winter Fest and it was a lot of fun to be up there with the fans – especially the kids,” said Dial. “It’s always important to give back to the community but being able to help the 49ers Foundation accomplish that alongside my teammates, 49ers alumni, and the 49ers family was special.”
It was another successful event to help kids in the community. As a 49ers fan, these events always make me proud to cheer on the red and gold. Go Niners!
