49ers’ Recap: Alternate Uniforms Unveiled and Reuben Foster is Back

By May 24, 2018 No Comments

What’s old is new again as the San Francisco 49ers held their State of the Franchise and unveiled new alternate uniforms Wednesday night in San Jose. Those uniforms are throwback to 1994, the last time the Niners won a Super Bowl. That’s some good karma right there.

A night that featured the front office, the coaching staff, and several players culminated in Jerry Rice joining Joe Staley, Richard Sherman, Robbie Gould, DeForest Buckner, and Kyle Juczsyck on stage to model the threads.

The 49ers will wear the uniforms once in 2018, though the date has not yet been announced. Stay tuned…

Reuben Foster is Back

After Santa Clara County Judge Nona Klippen announced yesterday that the domestic violence case against the 49ers’ Reuben Foster will not go to trial, the team confirmed that Foster rejoined his teammates today. Last week, Foster’s ex-girlfriend recanted her claims that the linebacker physically harmed her.

General Manager John Lynch released the following statement after yesterday’s announcement:

β€œThe organization is aware the domestic violence charges against Reuben Foster were dismissed earlier today. As a result, he will have the opportunity to rejoin the team tomorrow. It has been made clear to Reuben that his place on this team is one that must continue to be earned. We will continue to monitor the remaining misdemeanor charge.”

At last night’s State of the Franchise, Left Tackle Joe Staley said he was excited to see Foster back with his team.

“Just real excited about that, the news,” said Staley. “…I’m excited to see him come back whenever he comes back in the building and give him a hug and move forward.”

Practice is next open to the media next Wednesday. Make sure you’re following @49ersfangirl for updates.
