AFC Richmond has officially entered its women’s soccer era! The Lady Greyhounds are Richmond’s brand-new second-division women’s team, and yes, Ted Lasso is back on the touchline to coach them. Instead of simply copying the men’s storyline, Season 4 puts women’s sports front and center, from funding gaps to ACL injuries and everything in between.

The actors had to earn their jerseys…the hard way. Before filming, the cast trained alongside actual semi-professional players, and they admitted it was equal parts inspiring and humbling. They jokingly called it a “humiliation ritual” because the real players constantly reminded them just how good elite women’s athletes actually are.

Ted finally met his coaching match, and she’s basically the opposite of him. Meet assistant coach Alice Chilton, played by Tanya Reynolds. She’s blunt, stone-faced, and written to be the complete anti-Ted, which makes their coaching dynamic one of the funniest new additions to Season 4.
