5 Fun Facts about Ben Simmons

1. “I feel like I’m the best defender in the NBA.” Remember when Ben said that a few months ago? Well, he kinda wasn’t lying. Ben was just named to the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team on Monday and his selection was UNANIMOUS!
2. Living the childhood dream. When Ben was about five years old, he wrote down that he dreamed he would play in the NBA. Fast forward to 2016, and he’s the No.1 pick in the NBA Draft. But get this: He STILL has that piece of paper with his dream written on it! 
3. Growing up in Australia, Ben was constantly surrounded by animals and became a TOTAL animal lover! He’s had a bunch of pets including common ones like dogs (he currently has five!) and cats, and some exotic ones like a rat, a bearded dragon, and a poisonous fish.
4. He takes the phrase “tune out the noise” to a whole other level. To ignore all the chatter, Ben says he doesn’t go on Twitter and doesn’t ever have ESPN on in his house unless there’s a big game happening. 
5. Craving candy? You might just wanna pay Ben a visit. Ben has such a big sweet tooth that he actually has a candy kitchen in his house! The walls are lined with candy dispensers and drawers filled with candy bars, including his fav, Cadbury milk chocolate.
