  1. Baseball Immortality! After being almost unanimously voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020, Derek Jeter is FINALLY being inducted today! The 14x All-Star and 5x World Series champion received 99.7% of votes, the most ever for a position player.
  2. Mr. November. Possibly one of the coolest nicknames ever, Derek earned this one after hitting a walk-off homer in Game 4 of the 2001 World Series. Because the game went to extras, it was actually the first time an MLB game was played in November (just after midnight), making Derek the first player to ever hit a HR in the month!
  3. Power to the players. Shortly after retiring from baseball in 2014, Derek founded The Players’ Tribune, his very own media company. He designed the platform to give athletes the opportunity to tell their own stories and connect with fans without a filter!
  4. What dreams are made of. Derek played his last game at Yankee Stadium on September 25, 2014 and it had a storybook ending. After the Yanks blew a late lead, Derek came to the plate in the bottom of the ninth and hit a walk-off single in his final at-bat there!
  5. The breakfast of a champion…literally! Before every game, Derek would eat the same exact thing for breakfast: buttermilk pancakes and an omelet. He prefers his pancakes plain – hold the butter, bring on the syrup!
