- One of Derrick’s biggest heroes is his grandmother Gladys who raised him and 14 other children by herself. Her strength and love shaped Derrick into the powerhouse he is today
- Derrick has worn the number 22 throughout his NFL career to honor his friend and teammate Altee Tenpenny who tragically passed away in 2015. Every time he hits the field, he carries Altee’s memory with him.
- Off the field, Derrick founded the Two All Foundation, which is all about helping kids and teens reach their full potential. He’s dedicated to making sure everyone has access to opportunities, no matter their background.
- While Derrick has always dominated in football, he was also a beast in basketball and track at Yulee High School. His athletic versatility made him a standout across the board!
- Derrick isn’t just great, he’s the GOAT! (The greatest high school running back of all time, that is!) With 12,124 career rushing yards, he broke the national record, including a whopping 4,261 yards in his senior season alone!
