- He lost his mom Jennifer to breast cancer last year, but kept her close on draft night with her photo and signature sewn inside his suit jacket. The Islanders gifted him a jersey with her initials and a Hockey Fights Cancer ribbon, and he kissed it and pointed to the sky. Tears. Everywhere.
