- She’s the first woman to ever be a Keeper of the Stanley Cup. This year, Miragh officially became the first woman entrusted with traveling alongside hockey’s most iconic trophy. Not a bad addition to the resume!
- Her career literally started with the Stanley Cup showing up at work. On her very first day as an intern at the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003, the Stanley Cup happened to be arriving back at the museum as part of an annual tradition. Some people call that foreshadowing.
- One day she’s handling the Stanley Cup, the next she’s evaluating a Wayne Gretzky toaster. As the Hockey Hall of Fame’s Associate Curator and Archivist, Miragh reviews every item that comes into the collection. Her desk has seen everything from championship artifacts dating back to 1902 to a Wayne Gretzky-branded toaster.
- She’s helping preserve women’s hockey history in real time. One of Miragh’s favorite projects is documenting the rise of the PWHL as it happens. While the league is busy making history, she’s making sure those stories are preserved for future generations.
- She’s a hockey mom, a history nerd, and now a trailblazer. Away from the Stanley Cup spotlight, Miragh is a mom of three and has a background in art history and museum management. Her daughter is currently the only girl on her youth hockey team, a reminder that the next generation is watching too!
