- Mitch left Toronto and immediately became public enemy #1 for NHL defenses. Through 12 playoff games with the Vegas Golden Knights, Marner leads the entire NHL postseason in scoring with 18 points and already set a franchise record for the most points through the first 12 playoff games of a postseason. Safe to say the fresh start storyline is hitting!
- In Vegas’ series-clinching Game 6 win over the Anaheim Ducks, Mitch scored a ridiculous between-the-legs backhand goal just 62 seconds into the game. Playoff hockey is already chaotic, and Mitch made it cinema.
- He co-owns an esports company with The Weeknd! Marner is a huge gamer off the ice, which eventually led him to invest in OverActive Media alongside The Weeknd. Being an NHL superstar by day and esports businessman by night feels very on brand for him.
- Before the NHL, he was basically running a high school food empire. While playing junior hockey, Mitch and his roommates started a mini side hustle called “The MOD Feast,” selling bagels and hosting Pizza Fridays at school. Apparently they memorized everyone’s orders too! Talk about elite hospitality training.
- His mom accidentally missed his first NHL goal. When Marner scored his first NHL goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs, his dad was freaking out in the stands, while his mom was in the bathroom and completely missed it live… a nightmare every Fangirl has unfortunately had before.
