  1. Before he was slinging touchdowns, Sam was dishing out no-look assists on the hardwood. A two-time basketball MVP in high school, his coach once said he was the only guy who could grab a rebound and launch a 70-foot pass like it was nothing. QB1 energy from the start.
  2. During his USC days, Sam hosted a podcast with teammates and once said his dream guest would be Will Ferrell. Honestly? We need this reunion episode ASAP! Bonus points if it’s hosted on the golf course.
  3. Sam’s grandfather was literally the Marlboro Man, Richard “Dick” Hammer. A USC legend, Olympic volleyball player, firefighter, and rugged TV personality. Yes, Sam comes from a line of elite athletes AND icons.
  4. Sam once beat Daniel Jones at cornhole (petition for a televised rematch please). And when he’s not on the field? You might catch him golfing, pranking teammates, or draining threes with Klay Thompson. Just QB things.
  5. He didn’t even start high school as a quarterback! Sam originally played linebacker and wide receiver before stepping in as an emergency QB. One clutch TD and a game-winning two-point conversion later, and the rest is history!
