- Standing at 7 feet 4 inches tall, Zach is one of the tallest players in college basketball. Think you hit a growth spurt in 8th grade? Zach was 6’10” by then!
- Multi-Sport Athlete. Before focusing on basketball, Zach was a talented baseball player, playing as a pitcher and first baseman.
- Little Buddha. Zach wears a necklace with a pendant of the Buddha, which symbolizes his journey from being dubbed “Little Buddha” at birth due to his calm and contemplative nature, to his current success in college basketball. The necklace serves as a personal reminder of his growth and the unique path he has taken to achieve his accomplishments.
- Who would’ve thought? Edey’s journey to the top started late, and he didn’t start playing organized basketball until he was 16-years-old, making his rise in the sport even more remarkable. Now, he’s on his way to possibly becoming a two-time NCAAM Player of the Year!
- Strong sports family. Zach’s mother Julia is a former college basketball player, and his father Glen played college football.
