Whether you picture Von Miller in cowboy accessories, giant glasses, or doing some sort of pelvic thrust while his hands flail about, you can’t argue the guy has talent AND style. I never said it was good style…but it’s style nonetheless. So let’s dig a little deeper into who this Von Miller guy really is with 5 Fun Facts!
1. Miller has recently been given the Nickname the Chinese Dragon….LT Garett Bolles took part in giving him this nickname, saying, “When you watch what they do when it’s the Chinese New Year and you see those dragons go down the street, they’re always turning and twisting and moving and flipping. That’s what he does. He’s just so dominant.” So Von Miller and a Chinese Dragon have more in common than you think.
2. Von Miller is a native of Texas, which may explain the Cowboy attire. He graduated from Texas A&M with get this….a degree in poultry science! Yes that is a real major.
3. Considering Miller is experienced in the poultry department… it would only make sense that he owns a Chicken Farm! He keeps around 60 birds on his chicken farm, located in DeSoto, Tex, and he has named them after teammates, or at least after their numbers. He has a “DeMarcus” after Ware, an “88” after wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, a “95” after defensive end Derek Wolfe. And, of course, a “Peyton Manning.”
4. He founded Von’s Vision Foundation in 2012, for children who are part of Denver-based, low-income families to receive eye exams and eyewear. The organization hosts Von’s Vision Days, a two-day program that provides children with eye check-ups and glasses, if needed. Von’s Vision Day partners with eyewear retailers to give free screenings, eye exams, and corrective prescription eyewear.
5. His real name is Vonnie B’Vsean Miller Jr. Yes you spell his middle name B-V-S-E-A-N
