  1. Never forget. This September, to honor those who were affected by the tragedy of 9/11 18 years ago, Pete gave all his teammates unique custom-made cleats that commemorated the day.
  2. History as a Rook. Pete holds the ALL-TIME record for home runs by a Rookie with 53 this past season. The feat was so surreal to him that he was brought to tears on the field afterwards. Now that’s our type of guy! #humble
  3. Holy expletive! That was Pete’s exact reaction to being named NL Rookie of the Year Monday night. We think we’ll be using that one going forward.
  4. The Good Life. In his freshman Humanities course at the University of Florida, Pete wrote an essay about his dream to be a MLB player. The professor deemed it “unrealistic” and gave him a “C”. Five years later, Pete’s living the good life he’s always imagined. Life comes at you fast, prof!
  5. Homers for Heroes. Pete donated part of his $1M prize for winning this season’s Home Run Derby to the Wounded Warriors Project and the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Both have veterans and their families at their core, a dear cause to Pete whose two grandfathers served in the US military. #Respect
