So, How ‘Bout them Cowboys?

Defense wins championships and Thursday Night Football games. The Dallas Cowboys’ defense came up huge in the fourth quarter on Thursday night, leading the NFC East-leaders to a, 27-17, win over the New Orleans Saints.

Saints quarterback Taysom Hill was intercepted four times on the night – that’s rough – with three of them coming in the game’s final 6:32 – that’s rougher. It was Hill’s first start of the season. Cowboys’ CB Trevon Diggs picked up his league-leading ninth interception, while rookie LB Micah Parsons had five tackles and one sack. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn took over head-coaching duties, as Mike McCarthy tested positive for COVID-19.

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, New Orleans thinks Hill suffered a torn tendon in his middle finger that might require surgery, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting he’s expected to play through it.

This season has not been great for the now 5-7 Saints, but they play the New York Jets next week, so things could improve. The 8-4 Cowboys next head to Washington to take on the Washington Football Team.

Antonio Brown Suspended for COVID-19 Violation

Just when we thought Antonio Brown couldn’t sink any lower, he went ahead and proved us all wrong, as it turns out he misrepresented his COVID-19 vaccination status. As a result, Brown has been suspended three games for violating the NFL-NFLPA COVID-19 protocols.

Per ESPN, Brown is now vaccinated, but the investigation found that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver brought a fake vaccination card to training camp. Safety Mike Edwards and wide receiver John Franklin III, who was waived by the Bucs earlier this year, have also been suspended. Edwards and Brown are suspended without pay and eligible to return Dec. 26.

It is one’s prerogative not to be vaccinated. It is not one’s prerogative to lie to everyone, including one’s team, about their status and put people at risk. It’s disgusting.

Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lions to Honor Oxford High School Shooting Victims

This weekend, the Michigan Wolverines football team and the Detroit Lions will honor the victims of the Oxford High School shooting that took place in Oakland County, Michigan earlier this week.

The Wolverines, who play the Iowa Hawkeyes in Saturday’s Big Ten championship game, will wear a special patch for the game. The Lions will have a helmet decal and wear special T-shirts during their game Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

On Tuesday, a 15 year-old student shot and killed four students and injured seven others, one of whom is a teacher.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and all those affected.

Odell Beckham Jr. Questionable to Play Sunday

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is questionable to play in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, as he is battling a hip injury. RB Darrell Henderson is also questionable with a thigh injury.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said he would be surprised if Beckham couldn’t go. In last week’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, the newly acquired Beckham had five receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown.

The Rams have lost three in a row and sit at 7-4. The Jaguars sit at 2-9 and are playing like it, so the odds are in LA’s favor.

More NFL Injuries to Watch This Week

  • Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray will be a game-time decision, as he continues to deal with a high left ankle sprain. The Cardinals will be in Chicago to take on the Bears.
  • Meanwhile, Andy Dalton will start at quarterback for the Bears, as Justin Fields (ribs) has not been cleared to play.
  • New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has a neck strain and will not play against the Miami Dolphins.
  • Coming off a big Monday Night Football win, the Washington Football Team will be down two key players as they head to Las Vegas to play the Raiders. Safety/linebacker Landon Collins (foot) and running back J.D. McKissic (concussion) are both out for the game.
