Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, as he deals with a right elbow injury. Allen first practiced on Friday, but he was limited.

Bills’ head coach Sean McDermott said it was “an hour-to-hour situation.” This sounds like the definition of a game-time decision. The Bills are currently 6-2 and sit atop the AFC, while the Minnesota Vikings are 7-1 and in the lead in the NFC North.

Fun fact: the Vikings traded a first-round pick to the Bills in 2020 for wide receiver Stefon Diggs. They used that pick to draft WR Justin Jefferson.

Kickoff from Buffalo is at 1 pm ET/10 am PT on FOX.

T.J. Watt

The 2-6 Pittsburgh Steelers host the 3-6 New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Oof. That sounds like a rough one, but there is some good news to be had, at least for Pittsburgh, as it seems that LB T.J. Watt will be back on the field for the Steelers.

Watt tore his pectoral muscle in Pittsburgh’s Week 1 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals and has been on injured reserve ever since. While on IR, Watt also had arthroscopic surgery on his knee.

Without Watt, the Steelers’ pass rush has left a lot to be desired, accumulating eight total sacks in the seven games without him.

Matthew Stafford

The hits keep coming for the reigning Super Bowl-champion Los Angeles Rams, as quarterback Matthew Stafford is currently in the concussion protocol. Stafford entered the protocol on Tuesday and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said he didn’t have any information that Stafford was dealing with concussion symptoms during last week’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Should Stafford be unable to go, it will be John Wolford under center for LA.

NFL INJURY NEWS: WHO’S OUT AND WHO’S BACK

  • The San Francisco 49ers offense will get some prime time returns for Sunday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers with WR Deebo Samuel, WR Jauan Jennings and FB Kyle Juszczyk all good to go. RB Elijah Mitchell will also be activated off IR.
  • Arizona Cardinals’ QB Kyler Murray (hamstring) is questionable, as is safety Budda Baker (ankle), for Sunday’s game against the Rams.
  • The 6-2 New York Giants will host the Houston Texans on Sunday, and it looks like they’ll do so with WR Kenny Golladay, who has been dealing with a knee injury.
  • And it looks like the Saints will have WR Jarvis Landry (ankle) for Sunday’s game against the Steelers.

Houston Astros

The Houston Astros have gained a World Series victory and lost a general manager, as the team announced Friday that it won’t “enter into a renewal for the 2023 season” with now-former GM James Click. Click had been with the team for three seasons.

Both Click and manager Dusty Baker had their contracts expire at the end of October, but while Baker accepted a one-year deal, Click did not.

Earlier this week, pitcher Justin Verlander opted out of his contract with Houston and is a free agent.
