Cowboys at Eagles
The Dallas Cowboys (5-2) head into Philadelphia on Sunday to take on the division-rival Eagles (7-1), and this one is big. The Eagles have looked virtually unstoppable, while the Cowboys took their Sunday night loss to the 49ers last month and fueled it into wins.
The Cowboys will have their hands full with Eagles’ wide receiver A.J. Brown, who has set an NFL record with six straight games with at least 125 yards receiving. That’s incredible. All in all, he has 939 receiving yards and five touchdowns on the season. Meanwhile, Dallas wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is on fire, coming off a 158 yards receiving and two touchdown performance against the Rams last week.
Defensively, DaRon Bland has been a revelation at corner for the Cowboys after losing Trevon Diggs for the season, and Micah Parsons is, well, Micah Parsons. And then there’s the “tush push” of it all.
This should be a good one, and one that really matters as we start looking ahead to playoff seeding and division wins.
Texas Rangers World Series Parade
After winning the first World Series in franchise history Wednesday night, the Texas Rangers celebrated Friday deep in the heart of Texas. Their parade started at Globe Life Park and went for two miles.
Corey Seager was the World Series MVP, making him the first player to be World Series MVP both in the American League and the National League, with the latter coming in 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
“Everybody was wondering what would happen if the Rangers didn’t win the World Series…I guess we’ll never know,” Seager said to the very excited Rangers fans at the parade.
Congrats to all! Texas Forever.
Clayton Kershaw
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw announced on Instagram Friday that he had surgery on his throwing shoulder.
His post said: “This morning I underwent a surgical procedure to repair the gleno-humeral ligaments and capsule of my left shoulder. I am thankful for the expertise of Dr. ElAttrache who performed the surgery. I am hopeful to return to play at some point next summer. Thanks for your prayers!”
Kershaw, who was on a one-year deal with the Dodgers in 2023, was 13-5 with a 2.46 ERA in the regular season. In Game 1 of the division series, however, he gave up six earned runs in 1/3 of an inning. The Dodgers were swept in the series.
