NBA Finals

Dallas, you have a problem.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals tips off on Friday, and it is win or go home for the Dallas Mavericks. Well, they are playing at home, but they’re down 3-0 to the Boston Celtics, so you know what I mean.

No NBA team has ever lost a series once going up 3-0. Dallas, “so you’re saying there’s a chance,” probably. I don’t see it. The Mavericks probably had their best chance at a win, any win, Wednesday night, but a fouled-out Luka Doncic, and a myriad of other issues, made their almost-comeback, not a comeback at all.

Tune in at 8:30 pm ET/5:30 pm PT on ABC to see if the Celtics become champs.

Stanley Cup

A 3-0 series in the lead in the finals must be trending, because the NHL is doing it too! #domimantperformances

The Florida Panthers have a 3-0 lead on the Edmonton Oilers, and they can wrap the whole thing up Saturday night from Rogers Place. The puck drops at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT and can be seen on ABC/ESPN+.

Michigan Football

Safety first.

Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore added a star – four stars to be exact – to to the Wolverines’ defense. Four-star safety Kainoa Winston announced that he’s going to Michigan, making him the highest-ranked commit of Moore’s first recruiting class.

Winston is a product of Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. and chose Michigan over Penn State, Oregon and North Carolina, obviously.

You may remember, and if you don’t, I’m happy to remind you, that Michigan won the National Championship last season, with Moore assuming head coaching duties on games in which the great Jim Harbaugh was unfairly suspended. With Harbaugh now coaching the Los Angeles Chargers, Moore is the new head coach. Bolt Up and Go Blue!

Tony Jefferson and the Chargers

Speaking of the Chargers, they added a safety of their own on Friday, signing Tony Jefferson.

Jefferson played for 10 seasons in the NFL, before retiring in May 2023. He spent 2024 as a scouting intern with the Baltimore Ravens. He last played with the New York Giants in 2022.

The Chargers invited Jefferson to minicamp on a tryout bases, and apparently it went well. He will compete to be Safety 3.
