Tua Tagovailoa

During Thursday’s night’s loss to the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa sustained his third concussion in two years.

It was a very scary moment when Tagovailoa lowered his shoulder into safety Damar Hamlin and suffered a hit to his head. The contact led to a fencing response, which can happen after a traumatic brain injury. The person’s forearms extend or flex into the air and it can last several seconds. It was something we had seen before with Tagovailoa on one of two concussions he was diagnosed with in 2022. After staying on the field for some time, Tagovailoa was able to walk off on his own power.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel asked Friday morning that everyone let the focus be on his QB’s health, not on whether he returns to football. We are sending many prayers for the health and recovery of Tagovailoa.

NFL Week 2 Injury Updates – Quarterback Edition

  • Packers QB Jordan Love (knee) has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Colts. I would be shocked if he plays, but I am not a doctor, trainer or the coach of the Packers.
  • QB Russell Wilson (calf) is questionable for Sunday’s game. It feels like Justin Fields SZN may not be changing anytime soon in Pittsburgh.

NFL Week 2 Injury Updates – Not Quarterback Edition

  • 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf, Achilles) is out for Sunday’s game against the Vikings. The 49ers said the IR is now under consideration.
  • Vikings WR Jordan Addison (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game against the 49ers.
  • Chiefs WR Hollywood Brown has been placed on injured reserve, as he will have surgery for a sternoclavicular injury.
  • Ravens rookie CB Nate Wiggins was involved in a car crash earlier this week, and although coach John Harbaugh said he is “fine”, Wiggins will be out for Sunday against the Raiders.
  • The Bucs have ruled out the following for Sunday’s match-up with the Lions: S Antoine Winfield Jr., DT Calijah Kancey, RT Luke Goedeke and CB Josh Hayes.
