The new look San Francisco 49ers are also going to have a somewhat new look at Levi’s Stadium in 2017.
At Wednesday night’s State-of-the-Franchise event, team president Al Guido announced that the San Francisco 49ers will be bringing back the Ring of Honor that was at Candlestick Park, as well as various images from the past Super Bowl wins and great moments of the organization, the latter being in the concourse area.
The Ring of Honor will be on the west side of Levi’s Stadium and it will digitally project images of 26 49ers, with Tom Rathman being added once he is inducted into the 49ers Hall of Fame.
The season will also see various special events at home games, with the most important being Oct. 22 when Dwight Clark is honored on the day the Niners play the Dallas Cowboys. I can think of nothing more fitting.
The evening was a great night for fans, who also heard from CEO Jed York, general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan. Lynch and Shanahan each received a standing ovation from the Faithful, who are clearly very excited about the new regime.
A highlight of the evening was the exchange between Joe Staley and NaVorro Bowman who definitely need a weekly show. I suggest “The Joe and Bow Show.”
Less than 100 days away from football! Let’s do this. Go Niners!
