Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Hi Chiefs Kingdom!
We are undefeated right now at 3-0, and it feels incredible! The Chiefs beat the Chargers last week 24 – 10. We need to keep this winning streak going when we play Washington Redskins at Arrowhead on Monday, October 2nd. Let’s see what we’re up against.
Offense
The magic is still there between Alex Smith and Kareem Hunt with Smith throwing 155 yards and two touchdowns and Hunt rushing for 172 yards and a touchdown. Combine that with Tyreek Hill’s five receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown, and this offense is clicking despite Smith being sacked five times.
On to Washginton’s offense. Quarterback Kirk Cousins played one of the best games of his career. He completed 25 of his 30 passes for 365 yards and three touchdowns. Redskins’ Chris Thompson and Vernon Davis combined for 11 receptions for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Our defense will need to be all over them.
Defense
The Chiefs played a very solid and consistent game against the Chargers. Kansas City only had two sacks, but they intercepted Philip Rivers three times.
Linebackers De’Anthony Thomas and Dee Ford are both questionable for Monday with injuries.
The Redskins appear to have a top-notch defense. Last week against Oakland, they held the Raiders to 128 total yards, one touchdown and one field goal. Thompson and Spaight combined for 19 tackles. Washington sacked Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr four times so the Chiefs O-line is really going to have to step it up to protect Smith.
Game prediction
I am extremely confident that we can continue this winning streak and beat Washington as long as our O-line steps it up and our defense can apply pressure to Cousins. Go Chiefs Kingdom!
