Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Hi Chiefs Kingdom!

The Chiefs are starting the season off right with a 2-0 record. Last week, we beat the Eagles, 27-20 on our home turf at Arrowhead Stadium. We want to keep this momentum going as we travel to Los Angeles to play against the Chargers at the StubHub Center. Here is what we are up against:

Offense

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith completed 21 of 28 passes for 251 yards and one touchdown. His chemistry was as strong as ever with rookie RB Kareem Hunt. Hunt had 109 scrimmage yards and scored two touchdowns. Chiefs’ Kelce had eight receptions for 103 yards. Our offensive line needs to be strong right out of the gate and protect Smith. Smith was sacked three times last week. Chiefs safety Mitch Morse suffered a foot sprain last week and we do not know if he will play on Sunday. This could affect our offense against the Chargers.

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers passed the ball 39 times and the team only attempted 14 rushes in last week’s game. There is a growing concern over the Chargers kicking game. Kicker Younghoe Koo missed two field goals in last week’s game against the Dolphins. Chargers Keenan Allen and Hunter Henry caught the ball 16 times for 180 yards combined. However, this resulted in no touchdowns.

Defense

We will still be without Eric Berry, but our D-line has rallied together and Eric Murray and Daniel Sorensen have filled in nicely. Murray and Sorenson had a combined 12 solo tackles. Chris Jones had three sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.

The Chargers defense was very efficient in last week’s game. The Dolphins were in the red zone three times and were unable to put points on the board. Jatavis Brown had a total of 12 tackles in last week’s game against the Dolphins. Smith and the rest of the Chief’s offense will have their work cut out for them.

Game Prediction

The Chiefs are on fire right now and if they can get more production in the first quarter and continue to keep the defense strong without Eric Berry, I am confident that we will handle the Chargers and continue our winning streak. Go Chiefs Kingdom!
