Hi, Chiefs Kingdom! Welcome to Talking Touchdowns!

What happened? I was expecting the Chiefs to come out after the bye week energized with fire in their eyes ready to dominate the Giants. Weren’t you? The Chiefs fell to the New York Giants 12-9 in overtime. It was hard to watch, but the season isn’t over yet, Chiefs fans. Up next, the 6-4 Chiefs host the 5 -5 Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead on Sunday, November 26th.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills

Offense

Our offense is struggling, and many people are calling for Alex Smith to be benched and Patrick Mahomes to be put in. Now, hold tight, Chiefs Kingdom. No rookie quarterback has ever won a Super Bowl. We need to put our faith in Smith and let him turn this around. Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce had a solid game other than that little interception he threw. Andy, why is Kelce throwing the ball? Anyway, he caught the ball eight times for 109 yards. I was bummed that I didn’t get to see an endzone dance. Next week Kelce, I’ll be watching for it.

Rookie kicker Harrison Butker was responsible for all of the Chiefs’ points. He completed all three of his field goals. You never let us down Butker. I was waiting to see a huge improvement in our run game. Unfortunately, rookie running back Kareem Hunt ran the ball 18 times for only 73 yards and no touchdowns.

Let’s talk about the Bills’ offense. They lost last week to the Los Angeles Chargers 54-24. Way to go Chargers fangirl! The Bills pulled rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman after the 1st half of his starting debut. He completed 6 of his 14 passes for 66 yards and five interceptions. Once quarterback Tyrod Taylor stepped in, he completed 15 of his 25 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown. But the Bills still seem to up in the air as to who will start this week. Buffalo’s top wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin injured his knee on the field and was taken out of the game. It’s unclear if he will play in Sunday’s game.

Defense

The Chiefs’ defense did a nice job against the Giants on Sunday. Chiefs’ linebacker Reggie Ragland led our defense with nine tackles. Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen made an interception in in the first quarter of the game, his fourth of the year. He also had six tackles, five were solo. Nice job, Sorensen. It’s critical that our defense applies pressure to the quarterback, whoever he may be, in next week’s game.

On to Buffalo’s defense. Over the last three games that Buffalo has played, they have had a very porous defense. They have allowed an average of 212 rushing yards per game. The Chiefs need to be watchful of Buffalo’s linebacker Preston Brown and safety Justin Poyer. They had a combined total of 24 tackles in last week’s game against the Chargers. However, their total defense is ranked 25th in the league. Their giving up on average 366.8 yards and 25 points per game. Chiefs, let’s capitalize on this!

Game Prediction

OK, Chiefs fans, I know we are all feeling pretty down about the Chiefs, but we need to support and trust that they are going to look at our offensive opportunities and make the changes needed. I’m standing by the Chiefs and I putting my money on them to win against the Bills. Go, Chiefs!
