Hello 49er fans! How is everyone feeling after the 28-0 rout of the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football by the NFC West leading San Francisco 49ers? I would imagine pretty awesome! Enjoy it. Enjoy it until Sunday at 1 pm EST/10 am PST when the Niners take on the Carolina Panthers.
A lot of positives came out of the week one win for San Francisco. Granted the Rams are pretty bad and the 49ers looked really good after week one last year too, but somehow, this seems at least a little bit different. This 49ers’ team looks like a team that knows how to play football, likes playing football and likes playing football together. And those are major improvements over last season’s Niners.
On this week’s Talking Touchdowns podcast, SoCaliSteph and I talk about many aspects of the game, including:
- What a difference a coach and his staff makes
- Carlos Hyde’s amazing ability
- The defensive front that is and could continue to be
- How the secondary absolutely shined
- Blaine Gabbert
- And the upcoming game against the Panthers.
We admit that we are probably slightly overexcited about a week one victory against a not good team, but hey, we’re fans. If the Niners win the games they should, a couple that they shouldn’t, and compete in the rest, this season will be a relative success. Go Niners!
