Cowboys Can’t Wrangle the Broncos

By September 18, 2017 No Comments

The Denver Broncos flexed their offensive strength on Sunday, beating the Cowboys 42-17. Trevor Siemian tied a career high, four touchdowns and the Broncos held Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot to a career worst, 8 yards.

The Denver Broncos jumped out to an early lead. After a 78 yard drive, Siemian found the back of the end zone on a 10 yard pass to Emmanuel Sanders. The broncos went into the 2nd quarter leading the Cowboys 7-0.
The game was quickly tied up in the 2nd quarter, when Trevor Siemian fumbled after a sack and the ball was recovered by Dallas. It only took 2 plays and 3 yards to even the score at 7-7.

The broncos proceeded to score two unanswered touchdowns, on a 16 yard pass to C.J. Anderson and a 6 yard pass to Emmanuel Sanders (his second of the day). With two seconds to go in the 2nd quarter the Cowboys were able to tack on three, with a 56 yard field goal by Dan Bailey.

From halftime on out

I’m not sure what was said during halftime, but whatever it was set the Broncos on fire. The Broncos dominated the 3rd quarter, with a 75 yard drive ending in a 2 yard touchdown pass to Virgil Green. And later CJ Anderson showed off his legs with a 23 yard run to score, putting the Broncos up 35-10.

That escalated quickly
In the fourth quarter, contrary to last weeks fourth quarter minor-meltdown, the Broncos slammed the door shut against the Cowboys.

Jason Witten, who we really hadn’t heard from all game, found himself on the receiving end of 28 yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott.

But just when you thought the Cowboys were putting up a fight, Aqib Talib intercepted a Prescott pass on the Denver 6, and ran it 102 yards back for a Denver Broncos touchdown.

And that was your final score Denver 42- Dallas 17
