What’s up 12’s?! Welcome to this week’s edition of Talking Touchdowns.

The Seattle Seahawks have won four games in a row! Can you believe it?! This past Sunday was a nail biter but it’s time to regroup and get ready to face the Washington Redskins, who are coming off a demoralizing loss to the Cowboys where they combined for four fumbles and allowed four sacks.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington Redskins

Four of five starters on the Redskins’ o-line are dealing with injuries, which bodes well for the Seahawks who sacked Deshaun Watson five times last Sunday, two of those coming from Frank Clark, 1.5 from Michael Bennett. Newcomer Dwight Freeney got in on the action along with Sheldon Richardson and Justin Coleman who all tallied half a sack.

The Seahawks have traded corner Jeremy Lane, a 2018 5th round pick and a 2019 second round pick in exchange for three time pro bowler, offensive tackle Duane Brown from the Texans. This trade looks legit, rookie corner Shaq Griffin has been playing well and the Hawks definitely needed help at o-line. Looks like my spell of protection for Russell Wilson just may be working!

Seattle’s defense had allowed only 33 points in their last three victories. However, they allowed 38 against the Texans Sunday which raises the question of whether or not this defense can hold their own against an even more powerful offense.

The Redskins have struggled against mobile QB’s this season, i.e. Carson Wentz and Alex Smith. In three combined games vs. Wentz and Smith, the Redskins allowed 22 of 38 third down conversions.

Paul Richardson and Jimmy Graham both scored two touchdowns on Sunday and the team racked up 452 receiving yards. However, the run game was non existent yet again, tallying 33 total yards with 30 of those coming from Russell Wilson and three, yes three yards, combined from J.D. McKissic, Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls and Tyler Lockett.

Game Prediction

I believe in the end the injury riddled Redskins will be no match for the Hawks highly mobile QB and a surging receiving corps. I’m giving the W to the Seahawks yet again this week.
