Go Bulldogs! Ali is a Yale alum who majored in Cognitive Science, Behavioral Economics, while competing on the swim team. 

Just a month after losing her lower leg in a shark attack while vacationing in Turks and Caicos, Ali bravely returned to the water. Fast forward 10 months, and she’s now a member of the 2024 Paralympics Swim Team. Talk about resilience!

Only 10 months after the attack, Ali qualified for the 2024 Paralympics Swim Team! 

When Ali isn’t making waves in the pool, she’s whipping up custom cakes and desserts. Her sweet creations are showcased on her Instagram @truwitstreats. 

While training for the Paralympics, Ali is an Incoming Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company. 

Ali has three brothers, and her brother Teddy plays tennis at Duke University. 

Ali has travelled around the world, across the United States, Europe, and Canada. 

During her time at Yale, Ali was involved in many extracurricular activities. She was Co-President for the Women’s Network and the Yale Women’s Athletic Council. 

Ali’s love for swimming runs deep. Her mom Jody was captain of Yale’s Women’s Swimming and Diving Team in 1991! 

After the shark attack, Ali’s former teammate and friend Sophie Pilkinton quickly applied a tourniquet to her leg, playing a crucial role in saving her life.

Before her Paralympic journey, Ali swam for the Chelsea Piers Swim Team and was a four-year letter winner at Yale University.
