*Please note, this video was recorded before it was announced that Daniel Kilgore was going on IR.
You guys are not going to believe this. The San Francisco 49ers were up 17-6 in the 4th quarter against the New York Jets, and then…they totally blew the lead and lost the game…to the New York Jets. Three games friends. Three games.
Next up, the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta. It’s going to be a bloodbath.
The Falcons are coming off a massacre of a victory over the Rams – a victory in which the Falcons beat the Rams 42-14, off of three Matt Ryan touchdown passes. And they did it without Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu. It must be nice to have so much wide receiver depth. It really must be nice.
Aside from the game loss, the 49ers lost Daniel Kilgore, Vance McDonald, and Torrey Smith on Sunday (the former two are now on IR). Joe Staley was already hurting and now with Kilgore on IR, Colin Kaepernick is going to have to work overtime to avoid Atlanta’s Vic Beasley, who sacked Jared Goff three times the other day. Yikes.
Luckily, Carlos Hyde has found his groove and will be coming off a career high 193 yard rushing game, so he should be effective. Should being the operative word here.
The Niner pass rush was improved on Sunday, but Matt Ryan isn’t Bryce Petty, so…good luck with that one. Keep an eye on rookie DeForest Buckner who continues to be a bright spot on the season. He had 11 total tackles and two sacks last week.
Hopefully Jimmie Ward can continue his success on Sunday. He had the first interception by a 49ers’ cornerback this season and had 10 tackles.
But again, the Falcons aren’t the Jets. And if Jones and Sanu are back, watch out friends.
You’ll have to watch for my game prediction, but I think we all know, this is not going to be pretty. But, #2 draft pick. Yay. Go Niners.
