Well, the Rams’ season is officially over and I have to be honest, I’m kind of happy to be talking about teams that might actually win! Playoffs are in full swing and I am giving you a quick preview on the upcoming playoff games for the NFC.
Green Bay Packers vs Dallas Cowboys
- First up, the Green Bay Packers break free of the frozen temperatures and head to Dallas to take on Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. Aaron Rodgers is coming off of an amazing performance against the New York Giants where he went 25 of 40 for 362 yards and four touchdowns in the NFC Wild Card game at Lambeau. The biggest factors for next weeks match-up will be whether or not Rodgers will be without his go-to receiver Jordy Nelson, as he suffered a major rib injury last week. The Cowboys’ best chance at moving on to the NFC Championship game will be to rely on their massive offensive line and the run game which worked so well for them all year. If they can control the line of scrimmage and win the time of possession battle, they can limit the amount of opportunities Rodgers has to score.
Seattle Seahawks vs Atlanta Falcons
- Next up, the Seattle Seahawks are on the road across the country to the Georgia Dome to take on the Atlanta Falcons. The Russell Wilson led Seahawks beat up on the Detroit Lions at home for a 26-6 victory. Seattle was finally able to get their ground game going against the Lions, as Thomas Rawls rushed 27 times for 161 yards and a touchdown. Now Pete Carroll and the Hawks face Matt Ryan and Julio Jones indoors. Matt Ryan is coming off a career year in which he is under consideration for league MVP honors, so the Seattle defense must be up to the task if they are going to slow down the Atlanta offense. Keys to the game: Atlanta had a first round bye, so Julio Jones should be rested and ready to face Richard Sherman and the Seattle secondary. Difference maker to watch: Falcon’s defensive end Vic Beasley Jr. He has 15 ½ sacks on the year and 6 forced fumbles! YIKES poor Russell! And the Seattle offensive line has had a tough time protecting Wilson all year, so this will be an interesting match up to watch.
You will have to watch the video to hear my game predictions for this week and see who I think is headed to the NFC Championship!
That’s all I have for you this week, Happy Playoffs everyone!
