Hello 49er fans! The NFL Draft has come and gone, and the San Francisco 49ers are looking like a team with a vision, a future, and a plan. After making six trades to get the players they wanted for this year, still ending the draft with 10 new players (and that doesn’t include the 18 undrafted free agents they signed), and picks for the future, the Niners are in a much better place than they’ve been in awhile. General manager John Lynch did a masterful job with the draft, and he and Kyle Shanahan are off and running.
On this week’s Talking Touchdowns podcast, SoCaliSteph and I discuss the draft and the team, including:
- That trade from two to three
- Reuben Foster and Joe Williams and how the 49ers are working to ensure success for both
- The benefits of Lynch and Shanahan working in tandem
- The player cuts we’ve seen and what’s to come
- Whether or not I think Vance McDonald will be on the 49ers when the season starts
- And the excitement we have about this team that’s been missing for some time now.
