49ers Fangirl

Swipe Left. The 49ers Aren’t Getting Any Better (NFL Week 10)

By November 10, 2016 No Comments

Hello Faithful. Like the guy, or gal, you date and keep hoping will change, the San Francisco 49ers are going to disappoint you again and again over the next eight weeks. Sure, they’ll play well for a quarter or two, make you think they’ve turned the corner, and then bam, it will all go to hell, and hell hath no fury like a Fangirl scorned.

Next up for our guys in the red and gold are the 3-4-1 Arizona Cardinals.

Now I could tell you that the Cardinals are banged up, that they’ll be without Tyrann Mathieu, who you’ll remember tore Colin Kaepernick to shreds last season in Arizona. I could tell you left tackle Jared Veldheer went on IR, making the Cardinals’ offensive line a little weaker. I could also tell you Larry Fitzgerald has an ankle sprain, like that’s going to matter as he burns the 49ers’ secondary on his way to the end zone.

But none of that is going to make any difference, because who are we kidding, running back David Johnson is going to run all over the 49er defense, trampling what’s left of our hearts.

For awhile, Kaepernick and the Niner offense are going to look good. Kap had his best game in ages against the Saints, throwing for 398 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw some in the dirt and had a bad interception, but there was definite progress. DuJuan Harris will get some good yardage on the ground and you’ll feel like they’re in the game, but don’t be fooled. They won’t win and it won’t be close.

I’m not saying break up with the 49ers. A true faithful can’t do that. But slog through and get ready for that shiny, good looking new guy who will be coming in the form of the #1 or #2 draft pick. Go Niners!
