49ers fans, I’m mad. Not life mad, but football mad. The San Francisco 49ers have beaten the optimism right out of me, and it’s not because of their record. Sure, I’d much prefer they were better than 2-6. I’d much prefer they were just better. But my anger stems from deeper issues in the organization.
I don’t believe anything has been done in malice. I believe the 49ers have done what they think is best for the team. People make mistakes, but it’s how they own up to those mistakes, and correct them, that are telling. I’m a Faithful fan through and through, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a few gripes. In this week’s Talking Touchdowns video, I focus on news and gripes, including:
- The Benching of Colin Kaepernick
- The Vernon Davis trade – I knew he was probably thrilled; turns out I was right. I just thought he’d be a little nicer about it.
- Oh, and the actual game coming up on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
I must say it – Go Niners!
