By October 26, 2017 No Comments

Hi, Chiefs Kingdom! Welcome to Talking Touchdowns.

Last week’s game against the Raiders was heartbreaking. Have you ever seen so many penalty calls at the end of a game before? The Chiefs should not have let it get that close but they will have 10 days to get some rest, review film and evaluate the offense and defense and adjust where necessary.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos

The Chiefs host the 3-3 Denver Broncos, who are second in the division, at Arrowhead on Monday, October 30th.

Offense

Even though our offense is struggling, Alex Smith still played like a beast! He completed 25 of his 36 passes for 342 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. There is some potential to get some of our starting offensive players back in the lineup. Center Mitch Morse and right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who have both been on the injured list, practiced on a limited basis this past week, Fingers crossed they are back in the game on Monday night. Tyreek Hill caught six passes for 125 yards including his 64-yard touchdown! Chiefs running back Albert Wilson, @IthinkIsee12 on Twitter, scored a 63-yard touchdown. We definitely see you, Wilson. The Broncos suffered their first shutout in 25 years. The Chargers beat them, 21-0 on their own turf. Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian completed 25 of his 35 passes for 207 yards and an interception. The Broncos only had 12 first downs and three turnovers in the game against the Chargers.

Defense

The Chiefs’ defense could not stop the Raiders’ offense. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr completed 29 of his 52 passes for 417 yards and three touchdowns. Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper ran all over Chiefs. He caught the ball 11 times for 210 yards and two touchdowns. The Broncos allowed the Chargers 242 yards of total offense. Broncos linebacker Von Miller had five tackles and two sacks against the Chargers. The Broncos defense gives up 258 yards a game which ranks them #1 in the NFL. Look out Chiefs O-line!

Game Prediction

The Chiefs will be will be well rested by kickoff on Monday against the Broncos and with the potential of getting some players back into the lineup, we can secure a win! Broncos Fangirl, we aren’t giving up first place in the division. Be ready for Monday night war. Go Chiefs!
