I’m still recovering from the sting of that week one loss to the Packers. The Seahawks have notoriously struggled in Lambeau and nothing changed this past Sunday.
Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers
Alas, onto the next one as the kids say these days and the next one is the San Francisco 49ers. This may be a chance for their offense to work out the rest of the kinks; however, they can’t sleep on the 49ers.
On this week’s Talking Touchdowns game preview, I take a look at the matchup, including:
The Seahawks run game was lackluster in week 1 against the Packers and perhaps it’s time to steer away from the power rushers and towards a more uptempo rushing attack. As you may remember, Russell Wilson had great success with this up-tempo attack in 2015.
However, Seattle’s O-line is going to have to get it together. Wilson cannot be getting sacked three times a game.
The 49ers are in a position to work out some kinks as well. Both teams went touchdown-less in their prospective Week 1 matchups, so I expect Kyle Shanahan to have some tricks up his sleeve offensively.
Seattle’s front seven was able to apply constant pressure to Aaron Rodgers throughout the entire game and I think this will be a major key (cue DJ Khaled voice) for a victory over San Fran. The 49ers’ offensive line has issues of its own with Brian Hoyer being sacked four times on Sunday. Hoyer is shaky at best and will be forced to rely on Carlos Hyde and the run game with the threat Michael Bennett and company breathing down his neck.
Game Prediction
Thankfully, the Hawks will be back in the comfort of Century Link Field. Although I think both teams will finally score a TD, I expect Seattle to clobber Tracy’s Niners in a 35-10 victory. Sorry, Tracy!!!!
