Seattle Seahawks vs. Houston Texans

What’s up 12’s?! Welcome to this week’s edition of Talking Touchdowns.

The Hawks are on a three game win streak and heading back to Seattle to face the Houston Texans, who are coming off a bye week. Despite being without their leading man, J.J. Watt, they are still a force to be reckoned with.

  • Houston’s QB Deshaun Watson is having an impressive start, becoming the first rookie in NFL history with at least three TD passes in three straight games and 15 in the first six games.
    • He’s thrown for nearly 1300 yards and is also a threat on the ground with two rushing TD’s so far this season.
  • Six of Watson’s TD passes have gone to star wideout DeAndre Hopkins. However, he’s only had one 100+ yard game which means the Hawks defense will have to be hyper aware of Houston targeting Hopkins in the redzone.
    • However…the Hawks did hold the Giants to just one TD and 177 total yards last Sunday.
  • Not only are the Texans without JJ Watt, but they also lost linebacker Whitney Mercilus for the season and they may be without corner Kevin Johnson for another week.
    • This means Doug Baldwin, who had a monster game with 92 yards and a TD against the Giants, and the rest of the receiving corps should be able to exploit their weakened defense.

Game Prediction

Four wins in a row was something that seemed very unlikely at the beginning of the season. However, this week I’m predicting the Hawks do just that and defeat the Houston Texans. No tricks and all treats just in time for Halloween.

Go Hawks!
