Pro Bowl Games
The Pro Bowl Skills Showdown has come and gone, and now it’s time for Sunday’s 7-on-7 Flag Football game from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Peyton Manning will be coaching the AFC, while Eli Manning will be coaching the NFC. Eli’s team has won the last two years, meaning he seems destined to always beat Peyton to two ☺.
The game is at 3 pm ET/Noon PT and will be broadcast on ESPN/ABC/ESPN+. May the best NFL stars win!

WNBA Expansion Bids
Nashville and Detroit would like to bring the WNBA to their cities, and we are here for it.
Former Tennessee governor, and current chairman of the Nashville Predators, Bill Haslam leads a group of investors that include Candace Parker, Peyton Manning, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill that submitted its bid on Thursday for the would-be Tennessee Summitt (in honor of Pat Summitt). The proposed team would start playing in 2028.
Meanwhile, over in the Motor City, the Pistons and the Lions are leading the charge to bring the WNBA back to Detroit. Their bid was submitted on Thursday by Pistons owner Tom Gores, whose investors include Grant Hill and Jared Goff.
Repeat after me: everybody watches (and wants) women’s sports.
Isaiah Stewart
Speaking of the Detroit Pistons, after receiving a flagrant foul two and being ejected in Wednesday night’s game against the Pacers, center Isaiah Stewart has been suspended one game. Wednesday’s flagrant was his sixth of the season. Not ideal.
The suspension will be served on Friday, when the Pistons host the Mavericks. It’s also Isaiah Stewart’s bobblehead night, but the show must go on and the bobbleheads must be distributed.
Max Scherzer and the Blue Jays
Future Hall-of-Fame pitcher Max Scherzer has a new home, and it’s in Toronto with the Blue Jays. Per reports, it is a one-year, $15.5 million deal.
Scherzer was last with the Texas Rangers, where he was injured most of 2024. He made nine starts for a record of 2-4 and a 3.95 ERA. He’d had offseason surgery for a herniated disk, before returning in late June. However, Scherzer missed the month of August with shoulder fatigue, before a hamstring injury ended his season.
When healthy, Scherzer is one of baseball’s best pitchers, so it should be a good signing for Toronto.
