What’s at Stake in Week 18
12 of the 14 NFL playoff spots have been clinched. That leaves two spots open, with more than two teams vying for them this weekend. Football is so fun.
NFC
The Lions, Eagles, Vikings, Packers, Rams and Commanders are all in. The Falcons and the Bucs will be vying for the NFC South and the final spot. The Lions and the Vikings are playing each other for the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed. I am, quite literally, waiting all week for Sunday night.
AFC
Over in the AFC, the Chiefs, Bills, Ravens, Chargers, Texans and Steelers are all in, while the Dolphins, Broncos and Bengals are all looking to get the seventh spot. The Ravens and Steelers are each looking to be King of the AFC North. The Steelers host the Bengals on Saturday. That is going to be a good one.
Playoff-Clinching Scenarios
Want more NFL playoff picture nuggets? Of course you do! Here’s what the outsiders wanting to get in have to do to get there.
AFC
Broncos – Win/tie or Bengals and Dolphins both lose/tie.
Bengals – Win and Broncos lose AND Dolphins lose/tie
Dolphins – Win and Broncos lose
NFC
Bucs – Win/tie or Falcons lose/tie
Falcons – Win and Bucs lose

The Dodgers and Hyeseong Kim
You may recall that the Los Angeles Dodgers won the 2024 World Series, and if you ever forget, not to worry, I am here to remind you. You’re welcome.
They’d like to win another one and have made some offseason moves to do so. With that in mind, per many a report, they have agreed to a 3-year, $12.5 million contract with infielder Hyeseong Kim.
The Kiwoom Heroes posted Kim on December 5, so Friday was the deadline to sign with an MLB team. He played eight years with the Heroes at second base, third base and shortstop. Welcome to Hollywood!
