Football is Back-ish

As of today, all 32 NFL teams have reported to training camp and we are very happy about it. Like, honestly, we couldn’t be happier.

Preseason football kicks off with the Hall of Fame game on August 1, when the Denver Broncos take on the Atlanta Falcons.

But not before just a little bit of drama. In a surprise move, the Green Bay Packers released veteran defensive lineman Mike Daniels. Daniels met with the Cleveland Browns, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that he is finalizing a deal with the Detroit Lions.

Zion Williamson Already Making History

Game recognize game. Zion Williamson is signing with Nike’s Jumpman, as the NBA’s 2019 #1 draft pick signed a five-year deal, making it the richest in NBA history for a rookie.

While at Duke, Williamson’s Nike sneaker broke, leaving the now New Orleans Pelican injured and out for a month. But bygones. A multimillion dollar shoe deal can make one drop a grduge real fast.

City of (All) Stars

The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the 2020 MLB All-Star game and Dodger Stadium will glitter. The boys in blue announced $100 million in renovations that will take place in the offseason.

This will be the fourth All-Star Game hosted by the Dodgers franchise and the third since moving from Brooklyn to LA in 1958. It will be the second at Dodger Stadium, with the last one in 1980. Welcome to Hollywood! What’s your homerun dream?

British Open

Shane Lowry won the British Open and $10,750,000 prize. Not bad for a few days’ work. Lowry’s hometown of Clara, Ireland — population 3,432 — came out almost in entirety Tuesday evening to congratulate their native son, with local news stations streaming the entire event, from his parade through town to an array of speeches and sing-songs.

I created Fangirl Sports Network as a place for female sports fans to follow their favorite teams with content and coverage that speaks directly to females. It started with one and then eight and now 32 NFL Fangirls and 15 NBA Fangirls.
