They Are the Champions

After being crowned NBA champs Monday night and living it up in Miami this week, the Boston Celtics celebrated their 18th championship with a parade on Friday.

As is the custom for Boston-area sports championships – of which there have been many in recent years – the team paraded down streets in duck boats, which are usually used by tourists for sightseeing.

The celebration began at TD Garden and went on for about 90 min. They are the champions, my friends.

Stanley Cup Final

After taking a 3-0 lead over the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, the Florida Panthers find themselves in a bit of a pickle, and by a pickle, I mean the Oilers have won the last two games, and the series stands at 3-2.

Game 6 takes place Friday night from Rogers Place in Edmonton, as the Panthers look to wrap this up and avoid a Game 7. The puck drops at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on ABC/ESPN+.

WNBA All-Star Voting

The early fan votes are in for the WNBA All-Star Game, and three leaders are the Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson and the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston. Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese is the only other rookie in the top 10.

Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty), Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), Kelsey Plum (Las Vegas Aces), Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx) and Dearica Hamby (Los Angeles Sparks) make up the rest of the top 10.

The WNBA All-Star Game takes place on July 20 in Phoenix.

MLB Updates

  • Aaron Judge was hit in the hand earlier this week, but he returned to the Yankees on Thursday to hit his 27th home run of the season, which feels like a lot of home runs. It wasn’t enough though, as the Orioles beat the Yankees, 17-5. Yikes.
  • Clayton Kershaw watch is officially on, as the Dodgers pitcher threw three innings in his first rehab start since having surgery on his left shoulder. He allowed one run and two hits, striking out five batters. Kershaw will need a few more starts before joining the LA rotation, but the day was encouraging.
  • Toronto Blue Jays RHP Yariel Rodriguez (thoracic spine infalmmation) has been activated and will start on Friday against the Cleveland Guardians.
