Shohei Ohtani

A day after his bobblehead night was the event of the season, Shohei Ohtani has his own day. The city of Los Angeles has declared May 17th as “Shohei Ohtani Day.” I approve.

The Dodgers’ star has been nothing short of incredible to start his first season in LA, well, the other LA. Ohtani is batting .360 with 12 home runs and 30 RBIs. And the homers aren’t just hit hard, they’re hit to like the next county.

I know I’m biased here, but…I love him. Happy Shohei Ohtani Day!

Scottie Scheffler

It was a bizarre morning for No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler, as he tried to enter the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, where he’s playing in the PGA Championship.

Per ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, Scheffler was driving around an early morning crash scene to enter the club, when an officerattached himself to the golfer’s car. Scheffler was taken from his car and arrested. Scheffler was taken to jail and charged with felony second-degree assault on a police officer, along with lesser charges of third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from officers directing traffic. He was later released and was at Valhalla in time for his 10:08 am ET tee time.

An arraignment will take place on Tuesday, at which time Scheffler’s lawyer said his client will plead not guilty and said in a statement that his client “did not do anything wrong.”

Scheffler finished Friday tied for third place.

MLB Injury Updates

Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitcher Emmet Sheehan underwent season-ending ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) surgery earlier this week.
Chicago Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner has been hampered by a hamstring injury for several days and may need to go on the IL.
