Offseason MLB Updates

  • The All-MLB Awards were held Thursday night. Among the highlights: Shohei Ohtani won the NL Hank Aaron Award, as well as the Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter Award. The Braves’ Chris Sale and the White Sox’s Garrett Crochet were named Comeback Players of the Year, and Mookie Betts told everyone that in seven years, teams other than the Dodgers can start winning the World Series. I don’t hate it.
  • Due to terrible damage from Hurricane Milton to Tropicana Field, the Tampa Bay Rays will play the 2025 season at Steinbrenner Field, which is the Yankees’ spring training stadium.
  • The San Francisco Giants have hired Randy Winn as the vice president of player development.

Due to personal reasons, the Denver Nuggets will be without three-time MVP Nikola Jokic for their NBA Cup game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.
