MLB Playoff Spots Clinched
- On the night Dodgers’ DH Shohei Ohtani joined the 50/50 club, and then surpassed his own record to get 51/51, the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a playoff spot. Their magic number is now six to win the division.
- And over in the American League, the Cleveland Guardians have clinched a playoff spot, as have the New York Yankees.

Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid announced on social media Friday morning that he and the Philadelphia 76ers agreed to a contract extension. “Philadelphia is my home. I want to be here for the rest of my career,” Embiid said in an Instagram post. ESPN’s Ramona Shelbourne is reporting that it’s a three-year, $192.9 million maximum contract extension.
