I have been a sports fan for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a younger brother who’s a sports encyclopedia, a mother who lives and breathes March Madness and a father who follows everything from basketball to Indy car racing, it was kind of inevitable. Although I never actually played basketball (I am a California State Volleyball Champion), I have always loved watching the NBA over everything.

If you follow my other Fangirl Sports Network account then you know that I am a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan…so, as most of you probably already guessed, it was only natural for me to root for the former Seattle Super Sonics, now Oklahoma City Thunder.

Since we are in the day and age of building a “super team,” I was utterly ecstatic when we signed Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. Up until now Russell Westbrook was basically a one man wrecking crew and a triple double machine but now that he has the help of two more elite players I think the sky is the limit for this team.

Spending two seasons as the sideline reporter for the Lakers D-League Basketball team was awesome (I secretly cheered for the OKC Blue every game) and made me fall in love with the sport even more. Nothing really compares to being right down in the action during an NBA game.
