Fangirl Sports Network (FGSN) is a rapidly growing digital media company for female sports fans that delivers weekly news updates, commentary about professional sports teams, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at accomplished women making waves in the sports industry.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Social Media Intern to join team Fangirl. As an intern, you will play a vital role in creating engaging and relevant content for our digital community. You will contribute to various content series, including the creation of trending memes, researching and writing our weekly “Five Fun Facts” series, contributing ideas to our newsletter and subscriber content, and assisting with additional research and content creation, as needed. The ideal candidate must have an interest and extensive knowledge of professional sports, excellent verbal and written communication, a passion for trendspotting and creating social media content, and a strong desire to contribute to the growth and success of our brand.
Responsibilities:
– Create relevant and trending memes for social media platforms.
– Write engaging and informative content for our weekly “Five Fun Facts” series
– Actively contribute ideas for our weekly newsletter.
– Assist with content creation for various platforms (Instagram, Tiktok, X, Threads)
– Conduct research on sports-related topics and provide input on content ideas.
– Stay up-to-date with the latest sports news, trends, and social media practices.
– Collaborate with the content team to brainstorm and develop creative ideas.
– Ensure all content meets brand guidelines and quality standards.
– Collaborate with the Director of Content and other team members on special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
– Extensive knowledge of professional sports, including an understanding of various leagues, teams, and players.
– Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
– Strong familiarity with Instagram and TikTok trends.
– Ability to create engaging and shareable content.
– Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
– A team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
– Familiarity with digital content creation tools and platforms is a plus.
– Availability to work 10 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
