What’s up, 12’s?! Welcome to this week’s edition of Talking Touchdowns.

Seattle’s four game win streak was snapped last Sunday and the Hawks find themselves at 5-3. This week they are heading to Glendale, Arizona to face the 4-4 Cardinals who are coming off a win over the 49ers.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals

Adrian Peterson carried a career high 37 times for 159 yards and reached the illustrious 12,000 yard rushing mark on his career. AP is in good company. Only Hall of Famers Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson and Barry Sanders got there faster. Seattle’s run D will have their hands full.

Seattle lost to the Redskins last Sunday, 17-14, due to poor clock management down the stretch, lack of rhythm on offense and Blair Walsh missing three field goals, all of which were inside 50 yards. Not to mention the two failed 2-point conversion attempts. It was a sloppy game for a team who was starting to look crisp last week.

On the plus side, Seattle’s defensive front sacked Kirk Cousins six times for a loss of 54 yards, with two sacks coming from newcomer Dwight Freeney. However, they will be facing a much more stout Cardinal O-line who kept Drew Stanton clean last Sunday.

Bobby Wagner had a day with 12 total, and 10 solo, tackles with a sack and three tackles for loss; but this week he’ll be facing an offense that includes future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Jermaine Gresham.

Game Prediction

It’s time to bounce back after a brutal defeat but it’s not going to be easy. The Seahawks have struggled on the road this season and the Cardinals will be looking to take over second place in the NFC West. Alas, I’m still giving the W to Seattle this week because I’m optimistic.

Go Hawks!
