1. Lacing up the skates. J.J. played travel ice hockey from ages four to 13 but had to quit when it conflicted with his football schedule. He’s been known to still lace up his skates from time to time and calls Gordie Howe his all-time favorite sports athlete.
  2. Delivery boy. Before J.J. was delivering sacks on the NFL football field, he was delivering pizzas in his Wisconsin hometown. J.J. worked at the local Pizza Hut as a delivery boy while an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin.
  3. On the field domination. In 12 NFL seasons, J.J. is a 3x NFL Defensive Player of the Year winner (2012, 2014-15) and 5x Pro Bowl selection (2012-15, 2018). He is also the first player in the NFL to record multiple 20-sack seasons (2012, 2014) in league history.
  4. Competitive family. J.J. isn’t the only famous athlete in his family, his younger brothers T.J. and Derek both play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. His wife, Kealia, is a midfielder/forward for NWSL’s Chicago Red Stars.
  5. 7. Acting chops. J.J. has made cameo appearances of himself in the shows “The League” and “New Girl” and played a coach in the movie “Bad Moms.” In 2020, he hosted an episode of “Saturday Night Live” and a game show called “Ultimate Tag” with his brothers.

I created Fangirl Sports Network as a place for female sports fans to follow their favorite teams with content and coverage that speaks directly to females. It started with one and then eight and now 32 NFL Fangirls and 15 NBA Fangirls.
