1. Familiar place. This is Steve’s sixth NBA Finals appearance in eight seasons as the Warriors head coach. That ties him with Gregg Popovich for most among active head coaches in the NBA.
  2. Eight rings and counting. Steve is an eight-time NBA champion. He won three championships with the Chicago Bulls (1996-1998) and two with the San Antonio Spurs (1999 & 2003) as a player and three with the Golden State Warriors (2015, 2017-18) as a head coach.
  3. Born overseas. Steve was born in Beirut, Lebanon where is father was a professor at the American University of Beirut. Although his family relocated to California when he was a child, he spent two school years in Cairo, Egypt and his family would frequently take trips back to the Middle East.
  4. Friendly competition. Steve and Steph Curry started having friendly free throw competitions after practice in 2015. Curry said the competitions started in training camp and ESPN came to film one of the contests which Curry won by a point.
  5. Book worm. Steve is an avid reader and has taken to Twitter to recommend books to fans. He keeps multiple copies of the book “The Inner Game of Tennis” by Timothy Gallwey to give to players when they get in their head.

I created Fangirl Sports Network as a place for female sports fans to follow their favorite teams with content and coverage that speaks directly to females. It started with one and then eight and now 32 NFL Fangirls and 15 NBA Fangirls.
