1. First major milestone. Wyndham won the 2023 U.S. Open on Sunday, beating Rory McIlroy by one stroke to capture his first career major win. He now ranks 13th in the Official World Golf Ranking, moving up from 241st (in 2022) after the win.
  2. Star classmates. Wyndham went to high school with San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey at Valor Christian High School in Colorado. The two have even hit the golf course together, playing in the PGA Pro-Am tournament.
  3. Eagle eye. When Wyndham was six, he made a bet with his dad that if he scored an eagle his dad would buy him a PlayStation. Instead, Wyndham nailed a hole in one from 125 yards out and got his new video game console.
  4. Motivational reading. Wyndham cites the books “The Obstacle is the Way” by Ryan Holiday and “The Energy Bus” by Jon Gordon as helping with his mindset this year. In May, he encouraged his Twitter followers to read “The Energy Bus.”
  5. Making mom proud. Wyndham’s mom introduced him to golf when he was three, taking him to the driving range and the rest is history. His mother passed away from breast cancer in 2013, but he said he knew she was watching over him after his U.S. Open win.
