What’s up, Bolt Nation? The Chargers are coming off their second victory in a row, after dominating the Cowboys 28–6 on Thanksgiving! Up next, the Chargers will face the still winless Cleveland Browns back on their home turf.
LA Chargers vs. Cleveland Browns
Offense
Philip Rivers gave Charger fans something to be thankful for in the Thanksgiving game in Dallas. Rivers exploited the Cowboy’s secondary striking the football all game long. He completed 27 of 33 passes for 434 yards with three touchdowns.
And Rivers was not the only one who had an incredible Thanksgiving Day – Keenan Allen was also making moves finishing with 11 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown. If Rivers and Allen can keep up this double team action, I see playoffs in their future.
On the other hand, the Browns inability at quarterback has made it difficult for their O-line to develop any sort of consistency. The Browns recently attempted to make a trade for a new QB, but actually missed the deadline to file the papers and were unable to acquire A.J. McCarron. Talk about a hot mess.
Defense
The Chargers defense keeps getting better and better! With Perryman back in the game, he has put up 16 solo tackles, Tre Boston has had 4 interceptions scoring two defensive touchdowns, and the pass rushing duo of Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram are leading the NFL in 2nd and 3rd place in average time to sack. Can we take a moment to talk about Desmond King’s pick 6 for 90 yards. This Charger defense is finding ways to put points on the board.
Chargers’ cornerback Casey Hayward is showing off his Pro-Bowl ability. He had had three interceptions in the past two games, putting him at four for the season.
The Browns defense, or lack thereof, has managed to give up an average of 25 points per game, leading the NFL in total net yards and points given up by a defense. With the way the Chargers O-line is finally clicking, they are looking like trouble for the Browns, as if they didn’t have enough trouble already.
Game Prediction
The Chargers have gone from an 0–4 start to being a team that nobody wants to have to face. They are clicking at the right time and will have to take it game by game and take care of the Cleveland Browns, which I think that they can do. So with that, I am giving the win to the Chargers! We’re going for three in a row!
